dresser drawers to lightly scent your clothes by placing a drop
or two of lavender and rose on a cotton ball and
and tie in a clean cotton cloth. For children's sleepwear
to help them sleep, use roman chamomile to calm
and relax. Created a romantic scented letter by taking
a tissue and placing a drop or two of sandalwood, ylang ylang,
rose or jasmine and enclose for that special someone.
Application of oils like
peppermint, lemon, clove or cinnamon to the post-filter
of your water purifier will further purify the water.
For antiseptic action,
add several drops such as lavender, lemon, bergamot or
orange to an natural, non-toxic, unscented dishwashing
or liquid hand soap. Add a few drops of any antibacterial
oil such as lemon or peppermint to your natural,
non-toxic dishwasher soap to disinfect and purify.

to a damp wash cloth and place in clothes dryer with clothes.
Add 25 drops of Eucalyptus to natural non-toxic liquid
laundry soap before adding to washing machine to kill
dust mites from your bedding.
To
counteract the unpleasant smell of paint, add a 5ml bottle
to 1 gallon of paint. Use your favorite blend such as White
Angelica, Abundance, Joy, 3 Wise Men, Dream Catcher or Sacred
Mountain.
Create your own non-toxic
surface cleaner for kitchen and b athroom
countertops by filling a plastic spray bottle with water and
a squirt of natural dishwashing soap. Add to that 3-5 drops each
of lavender, lemon and pine essential oils. Shake
well and often. Oils which are antibacterial and antiviral are
cinnamon, clove, eucalyptus, thyme, spruce, lemongrass
and grapefruit. CAUTION: Some oils used directly may stain
some surfaces, such as linoleum.
Instead of using toxic
moth balls to repel moths, put one or more of the f ollowing on a cotton ball and
tie in a clean cotton cloth and place in drawer or hang in closet:
citronella, lavender,
lemongrass, Canadian red cedar or rosemary. Be sure
that you hang or place moth repellent so that it does not touch
clothes or other materials. Peppermint placed across entryways
will prevent ants from entering the house. To repel
mites, lice, fleas and other insects, use lavender, lemon,
peppermint, citronella, lemongrass, cypress, eucalyptus globulus,
cinnamon, thyme, basil, Thieves or Purification.
And finally, some essential
oils are lovely to use in cooking. Since essential oils
are the concentrated oils of the plant, you need only use a little.
1-2 drops of an essential oil is equivalent to a f ull
bottle of DRIED herbs (dried herbs are much stronger than
fresh herbs). As a general rule, use 1-2 drops per recipe
for 4-6 people and add just before serving, so the oil does
not evaporate. LESS IS BETTER.
Spice oils generally impart
a much stronger flavor that citrus oils. Some SPICE oils such
as oregano, nutmeg, cinnamon, marjoram, thyme and basil are so strong
that it is better to dip a toothpick into the oil and stir the
food with the toothpick.
SPICE OILS: basil, cinnamon, clove, dill, fennel, ginger,
lemon, lavender, majoram, mountain savory, nutmeg, oregano, peppermint,
rosemary, sage, spearmint, tarragon and thyme. CIRTRUS
OILS: orange, lemon, lime, grapefruit, bergamot, tangerine
and mandarin.
If you love
honey, try adding 1 drop of cinnamon, chamomile or lemon to 1
tablespoon of warm honey and mix well. For an herbal
tea, add lavender, lemon, peppermint or melissa
to a bit of vodka (to disperse oil
droplets) and add to warm water. For a cool refreshing drink,
add lemon or peppermint to a bit of vodka (to disperse
oils droplets) and add to a pitcher of cold water. Use V-6
